There is a website called
Click Here that will help you with ich. It is mainly a FW disease. Salt helps, just read this article and I hope it helps! Good luck!
Answer #3:
One of my goldfish tanks is currently infected with Ich at the moment too, and I am doing basically the same as you are. As far as I understand, higher temperatures speed up the life cycle of Ich, so it takes less time for it to come round to the stage in the cycle where the treatment will kill it. So basically if the temperature is higher, then the treatment period will be quicker. It should take between 7 and 14 days of treatment to eradicate Ich, depending on the temperature of the aquarium. If you keep your aquarium at a high temperature (26 - 31 degrees celsius), then 10 days of treatment should be sufficient. Obviously, don't raise the temperature to a level that is unsafe for the fish. Aquarium salt is beneficial as it reduces the stress to the fish and will reduce the risk of the fish getting a bacterial infection due to the cysts/wounds caused by the Ich. As for water changes, I don't know what to suggest. Some websites say water changes are beneficial, but on the treatment I have, the instructions say nothing about water changes.
Answer #4:
Nope. I always turn the temp up to 86 if I'm having an ich problem.

Hi.
Unfortunately you will be treating the whole tank now.
If your fish are showing these symptoms = small .3-1mm white spots spread over the body and fins like salt. Then yes your right it will be Ich, or white spot disease, it is caused by a unicellular parasite and is fairly common, very contagious and if not treated your fish will die.
The parasite goes through a lengthy life cycle and nearly all medications will be ineffective while the parasite is on the fish. Most medication on the market are only affective while the parasite is off the fish.
You should have done all these things so far, a water change with gravel clean, increased aeration, raising the temperature, keep it above 78(but under 83) while treating for ich, this will accelerate the parasites life cycle and let any medication take affect sooner.
I would closely check any medication directions because I know some say to use half the normal dose with loaches and other sensitive fish. Using more isn't going to get rid of the problem faster.
If you use to much you could be killing your fish with the medication.
Adding table salt (Na Cl sodium chloride) to the water will HELP, but not absolutely necessary if your medicating.
If you choose to, use 200 grams to each 100 litres.
***The salt is NOT used as medication in any way***, but it will have a positive affect by easing the function of the fishes osmotic regulation, so less energy the fish spend on doing that can be used to better fight any disease.
It may take some time depending on the severity of infection.
Remember that any medication will be actively killing off your good beneficial bacteria.
After your treatment is over do a gravel clean, water change and filter clean, slowly lower the temperature to where you had it, and keep check of your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels. This will be Very Important! Your fish will be under stress throughout this whole process and providing them with excellent water conditions after medication will help stop a further outbreak.
The above is from my own experiences over the last 38 years I am no expert so here is a site for you to visit
Click Here There is always something new to learn in this hobby.
Good luck with it.
Hope all works out OK.
Answer #7:
temperatures above 86 kill the free swimming larvae of the parasite (if u set the temp to 87, once all the current spots fall off, the offspring they will release will get killed by the temperature)
also meds and salt only interact with the larvae (once it connects to a fish it is invurnable until it falls off and releases its offspring), their life cycle is determined by outside temperature, at 70 degrees it might take 2 weeks from releasing offspring to releasing offspring, while at 80 it might take a few hours (temp above 86 kill the parasite)
